The Eldil and Cosmic Warfare

I recall, vaguely, a church service I once attended where the pastor said that there is a form of cosmic warfare that goes on every day when we make decisions. And that we can make decisions that bring us closer to or further away from God, and that choice is what the battle is fought over. Lewis seemed to agree with this notion, as such a battle takes place when Lewis (The Narrator in Perelandra) tries to go to Ransom's college. It's an amusing thought, to think that The Powers That Be might have a vested interest in my day-to-day choices, and for each one there is some ethereal party rooting for that path. I wonder what party my choices might be pleasing?
