Til We Have Faces Entry #2: An Answer to Uncertainty

"I ended my first book with the words no answer. I know now, Lord, why you utter no answer.  You are yourself the answer. Before your face questions die away. What other answer would suffice?"

It is an interesting concept to think that God utters no answer because he is the answer.  That concept is something even I as a Christian have a hard time wrestling with being that I can see God as communicating answers through scripture.  When I think more about the quote I must say I am softened to it, though.  While I find that God does communicate clearly in scripture, maybe the uncertainty people feel can be answered by the simplicity of God's name and character.  I think believers can find something to take away from God's not answering them as a means of turning to him alone in order to find answers.  God's name can be used as a directive in order for one to feel confident amidst large uncertainty.
